Australia's great e-health vision continues to stall with new research showing that greater use of ICT in the health sector could generate savings worth more than $1.5 billion per annum.

Western Australian premier Geoff Gallop yesterday launched the world's first e-medicine research initiative at Edith Cowan University.

The Biometrics Institute is seeking public comment on its draft version of the Biometrics Privacy Code. The code covers the use of technology that incorporates human attributes such as fingerprints, iris and face scans, hand geometry and DNA.
