Avantogen, Novogen

Avantogen (ASX: ACU) CEO Dr William Ardrey has been appointed to the board of Hawaii Biotech.

Avantogen has a significant stake in Hawaii Biotech, which recently started a Phase I trial of a West Nile virus vaccine. Professor Ian Frazer is also on the Hawaii board.

Novogen’s (ASX: NRT) subsidiary Glycotex has signed an agreement with Advanced Medical Solutions (AMS) to investigate the use of Glycotex’s candidate GLYC-101 in wound dressings.

GLYC-101 is a topical gel aimed at stimulating cell populations for wound repair. It is aimed at the growing market for venous and diabetic ulcers and for burns and surgical wounds.

AMS is a wound care product specialist based in the UK.
