Just what is the centre of the Australian biotech universe? Is it Melbourne, or Sydney, or Brisbane?
At the end of next week, it's probably none of the above, as Club Bio once again takes over that well-known biotech hot-spot, Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Traditionally one of the high points on the local biotech calendar, Club Bio manages to combine hardcore discussion and analysis of issues affecting the industry with some all-important networking.
This year's 'biotech health check' plenaries will be given by Queensland's chief scientist, Peter Andrews, and seasoned industry observer Mike Vitale, of the AGSM. Sessions cover emerging technologies, structure and function, finance and funding, and clinical and regulatory issues.
Club Bio kicks off with a golf tournament on Thursday, August 11, with the main business taking place on Friday 12. More information: www.ausbiotech.org
